The history of the Alpenhotel Fischer****
Tradition & modernity in a family business
Yours hosts
Inge und Michael Wenig
Since 2005 Inge Wenig, daughter of the Fischer family, is operating the Alpenhotel together with her husband Michael. Also their son, Michael Wenig jun., is meantie working in the family business.
Tradition …
1967 – 1977
The current Alpenhotel Fischer was built between 1966 and 1967 by Hans and Rosa Fischer, and opened thanks to you on the 15th July 1967 as a hotel/guesthouse complete with 40 beds. In 1977, the Fischer family extended the house to fit 60 more beds as well as an indoor pool. In 1984, the final addition to the building came in the form of the hotel wing with its Untersberg apartments.
… & Moderne
1977 – 2006
In 1990, the hotel in Berchtesgaden, which had been run as a family business up to that point, was leased to couple Andrea and Jürgen Lefévre for 15 years. Once these 15 years were up, Inge Wenig, the Fischer family’s daughter, and her husband began running this house, and have been doing so since the 1st April 2005. Their idea: “… The pleasant feeling of being welcome and feeling at ease”. After just 6 weeks of reconstruction and renovation, the Hotel Fischer was opened under a new name – Alpenhotel Fischer – on the 29th April 2005. In autumn 2005, Alpenhotel Fischer was enhanced with a spa, which opened its doors to guests at Easter in 2006.
At all times hand in hand
yesterday & today
In order to make the Alpenhotel Fischer attractive for our guests in the future, we always pull together.
In the course of time, e. g., the rooms were renovated, new room categories were added, the hotel bar was redesigned, a new energy-efficient oven for the kitchen was purchased and the wellness area was also extensively rebuilt and modernized.
